Case study
AMI Informatique: a tech shop for Dakar, designed with a free hand
E-commerce · WooCommerce · Community management · In progress
AMI Informatique sells smartphones, computers, audio products, smartwatches and accessories in Dakar. The client, new to e-commerce, asked for “the best possible website” and relied on my creativity, with a six-week deadline. The site is being finalised: the last product images still have to be added.

The brief
A free hand, and everything to imagine
The client knew little about e-commerce and was looking for someone he could trust enough to have nothing to recommend. With no specification, I therefore defined the structure of the shop, the services to offer and the pages required myself, starting from buying habits in Dakar: prices in FCFA, ordering by WhatsApp, local delivery.
Above all, the site had to reassure customers about product availability, warranty and delivery in Dakar.
My role
What I designed and built
Catalogue and navigation
WordPress and WooCommerce shop: 86 products organised by department (smartphones, computers, audio, watches, photo and video, gaming, accessories), with search and filters.
Help choosing
A five-step “Which device is right for me?” guide that recommends 3 products, and a comparison tool for up to three products side by side.
Reassuring services
Dedicated pages for warranty, delivery in Dakar, payment, order tracking, trade-in and refurbished products, plus an FAQ.
Easier purchasing
Lay-away plan with a deposit and payment in 3 or 4 instalments, points-based loyalty programme and referrals.
Ordering by WhatsApp
A WhatsApp button across the whole site, for customers who prefer to order or ask a question by message.
Legal pages and content
Terms of sale, legal notice, privacy and cookie policies, and a blog already populated with 9 articles.
Performance and accessibility
Optimised an Elementor Pro + WooCommerce store without rebuilding it: page-by-page loading of scripts and styles, sized and deferred images, preloaded fonts, caching. PageSpeed mobile score went from 71 to 85 (99 on desktop), with an H1 and alt text on every image.
Instagram community
Management of the @ami_informatique account, with around 32,000 followers: the online shop extends an existing community.
